Information as of October 28, 2026. Ticket prices and sale dates had not been announced at the time of writing.

At a glance

  • When: Saturday, December 12, 2026, in two shows. Start times have not been published.
  • Where: Virtual Sanrio Puroland, Sanrio’s permanent virtual theme park in VRChat. Part of the park is rearranged for the event, with a stage that exists for one day only.
  • Who: ten VTubers, centered on the Appland agency .LIVE and the group ぶいぱい, with some performers from outside Appland.

The lineup

According to Mogura VR and KAI-YOU, the two shows feature the following performers, with Japanese names given to avoid romanization differences.

  • Show 1: 電脳少女シロ (Denno Shoujo Siro), カルロ・ピノ (Carlo Pino), 遠吠きゃん (Toboe Kyan), 柘榴シロ (Zakuro Siro) and よしか⁂ (Yoshika).
  • Show 2: 神楽すず (Kagura Suzu), もこ田めめめ (Mokota Mememe), 紅蓮罰まる (Guren Batsumaru), カグラナナ (Kagura Nana) and 人生つみこ (Jinsei Tsumiko).

The report says the lineup draws on members of .LIVE and ぶいぱい, both Appland projects, and includes four VTubers from outside Appland. Some performances will feature outfits from wearverse, Appland’s apparel brand for VRChat and similar platforms. For background on the company, see our profile of Appland (.LIVE).

Background: the original *ASTERISK

The first *ASTERISK was an online VTuber music live held on December 30, 2020, with eleven VTubers from different agencies, including 電脳少女シロ, もこ田めめめ, 犬山たまき and 花鋏キョウ, according to KAI-YOU. The 2026 event is described as its revival after six years and is built around the same cross-agency idea, though most of this year’s lineup comes from Appland’s own groups.

The venue: Virtual Sanrio Puroland

Virtual Sanrio Puroland is a permanent, always-open virtual theme park that Sanrio opened in VRChat in December 2025, according to a report by Advertimes. It grew out of the Sanrio Virtual Festival series, which Sanrio says has run since 2021, and is intended to turn one-off digital events into ongoing features. The park includes themed rooms, a creator studio aimed at VTubers and streamers, and a Kizuna AI-themed area called KizunaAI Dream Garden. Most of the park is free, with some paid content.

Paid shows inside the park have used a ticket model before. For a spring 2026 event, Mogura VR reported a 1,000-yen “Sparkling Spring Ticket” for the performances, a free stream of one show on Sanrio’s YouTube channel, and entry from a PC or VR device. That is not a guide to *ASTERISK pricing, but it shows how Sanrio’s venue handles ticketed performances. For general advice on attending this type of event, see our guide to attending a VRChat VTuber concert from outside Japan.

Notes for readers outside Japan

  • Two ways to watch. The online streaming ticket for PC and smartphones is the lower-barrier option; the VRChat ticket requires an environment that can run VRChat. Check the event page for platform requirements once published, since organizers sometimes restrict entry to PC or PCVR.
  • Time zone. The date, December 12, is in Japan Standard Time (UTC+9). Without published start times, a conversion is not possible yet.
  • Language. The performers speak Japanese, and the announcements so far are in Japanese; the event website is asterisk2026.appland.co.jp.

What we don’t know yet

  • Start times for Show 1 and Show 2.
  • Ticket prices, sale dates and whether the streaming ticket includes an archive.
  • Whether overseas payment is supported and whether English information will be provided.
  • Which songs will be performed, and the details of the one-day stage.

What to watch next

Appland says ticket prices and sale schedules will be announced on the event’s official X account and on the event website. A similar VRChat festival, ESPERA on November 20 to 22, takes place a few weeks earlier.
