viviON Inc. (株式会社viviON) is a Tokyo-based company that runs online services and content creation, and operates the VTuber group Aogiri High School. In the past few years it has widened its VTuber business by taking over another agency, Vebop Project, and by launching a cross-agency community called VHS City.

At a glance

  • Established: October 1, 2021.
  • Representative Director: Kosaku Akashi.
  • Capital: 9 million yen.
  • Businesses: online service business and content creation business.
  • Shareholder: 2nd RETAILING Co., Ltd., according to the official company overview.
  • VTuber groups: Aogiri High School, and Bebop High School (formerly Vebop Project).

History

The company overview gives its establishment date as October 1, 2021. In January 2023 the holding company Brave Group announced a business alliance with viviON under which the Aogiri High School team moved over; Famitsu reports an effective date of April 1, 2023, and that the Aogiri team became a division inside viviON together with the operations staff of Brave Group’s subsidiary Create Ring. Famitsu described viviON at the time as a subsidiary of GEO Holdings and quoted member Otodama Tamako on changing the small-staff operating model.

On October 22, 2025, viviON announced that it had acquired the VTuber agency business of Vebop Project from REALITY Studios, with the transfer effective August 31, 2025 and operations moving to viviON on October 22, 2025. viviON said it expects Japan’s VTuber market to keep growing and that Vebop Project shares a spirit with Aogiri High School.

VHS City

On June 1, 2026, viviON launched VHS City (Vtuber High School City), a virtual creator community meant to let creators from different agencies and genres mix and create together. Aogiri High School took part, Vebop Project was renamed Bebop High School, a group called Goraku-gumi was also renamed, and the independent VTuber Juui Nora joined as a partner creator without signing with viviON. The community runs a YouTube channel and an X information account, and viviON says it plans to expand it in stages.

Recent developments

In October 2026 Aogiri High School announced a full review of its operations and cancelled a December music festival; see our report, Aogiri High School reviews its operations and cancels a December music festival. The Aogiri statement is separate from viviON’s other groups.

Part of a larger group

viviON describes itself, in its M&A policy page, as part of a group whose core business is the operation of DLsite, one of Japan’s largest online marketplaces for 2D (anime-style) content. The same page lists other businesses including a VR platform, a voice-actor production company, an ASMR listening app, digital comic publishing, a creator-support platform, VTuber production and a motion-capture studio, and it names its parent company as 2nd RETAILING. The company says it invests in entertainment businesses of any size and aims to keep an acquired team’s vision and operating style intact, which is consistent with how it handled Aogiri High School and Vebop Project.

Partnerships and licensing

  • Trading card games (January 14, 2025): viviON announced that Aogiri High School would appear in Bushiroad’s Weiss Schwarz and Re:Birth for you card games. A trial set and booster pack for Re:Birth for you were planned for April 18 and for Weiss Schwarz on June 13, with original illustrations of the members and foil-stamped signature cards. Members Yamaguro Nekuro and Harusame Urame were named promotional ambassadors. The announcement also said Aogiri High School had 15 affiliated VTubers as of December 2024 and gave its motto as “If it’s interesting, anything goes!”
  • SEGA licence (December 12, 2025): viviON signed a comprehensive licensing agreement with SEGA covering the use of SEGA game works, so that members of Aogiri High School and Vebop Project can publish content that uses SEGA games. The company said it wants to keep a game-streaming environment that respects copyright.

Auditions

On January 30, 2026, viviON and REALITY Inc., the operator of the REALITY avatar-streaming app, announced a joint audition to develop next-generation VTubers. Applications ran from February 1 to February 28, 2026. The stated aim was to give active REALITY streamers a route to wider platforms such as YouTube while they continue to stream on REALITY, and applicants could generally keep their current streaming names and social accounts. The announcement lists a document screening, an online interview, a practical test and an in-person interview, with a few winners to be chosen. Applicants had to be 18 or older, live in Japan and have streaming experience on REALITY. The announcement does not say who was selected, so check viviON’s news page for results.

How the pieces fit together

Seen together, these announcements show viviON positioning itself as an operator that buys or takes over established VTuber groups (Aogiri High School in 2023, Vebop Project in 2025), licenses games and card-game tie-ins to give them a commercial footing, and recruits new talent through partners such as REALITY. The October 2026 Aogiri High School review shows that scaling several groups also brings operational challenges, as covered in our linked report above.
