History

ANYCOLOR was founded on May 2, 2017 as Ichikara Inc. and later took its present name; Wikipedia gives the rename date as May 17, 2021, but we found that date only on Wikipedia, so treat it as unconfirmed. According to the CEO message on the company’s IR site, the VTuber business started in 2018, and Wikipedia says the name NIJISANJI was first applied to talents on March 15, 2018. The company says it listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange’s Growth Market in June 2022 (Wikipedia gives June 8), and its IR overview now shows the Prime Market. We could not find the date of the move between markets.

Structure and brands

The official About page lists three brands: NIJISANJI, an Overseas VTuber Project and ANYCOLOR MAGAZINE, and says its operations include running VTuber groups, global VTuber projects, merchandise planning, VTuber management and design, corporate sales, talent production and management, and new businesses. A group company, Atelier colors Inc., is also listed.

The overseas side matters most to readers outside Japan. The company’s overseas page names NIJISANJI EN, which debuted in May 2021, and VirtuaReal, a Chinese group on Bilibili that debuted in May 2019. The first EN wave, LazuLight (Elira Pendora, Pomu Rainpuff and Finana Ryugu), was announced on May 12, 2021 with a debut broadcast on May 16. In 2022 the Indonesian and Korean branches were merged into the main NIJISANJI: the announcement was on February 17, 2022 and the merger took effect in April 2022, after which the ID and KR official accounts ended. NIJISANJI EN and VirtuaReal were not affected.

Notable talents

The company highlighted Luca Kaneshiro, whose one-million-subscriber milestone it announced on May 8, 2023 as the third NIJISANJI EN member to reach that mark. Talents with pages on this site include Luca Kaneshiro, Shu Yamino, Sonny Brisko and Inami Rai.

Business and latest results

ANYCOLOR reports four segments, according to Gamebusiness: Commerce, Events, Live streaming and Promotion. For the first quarter of its fiscal year ending April 2027 (May to July 2026), announced on September 9, 2026, Gamebusiness reports sales of 16.62 billion yen (up 5.4 percent), operating profit of 6.39 billion yen (down 8.8 percent) and net profit of 4.365 billion yen (down 10.6 percent). The operating margin fell to 38.5 percent from 44.4 percent a year earlier, as cost of sales rose from 7.77 billion to 9.15 billion yen. Commerce sales of 11.41 billion yen beat the company’s own forecast of 10.8 billion yen. Full-year guidance, unchanged from June 10, is for sales of 56 to 60 billion yen and operating profit of 18 to 20 billion yen. Nikkei reportedly gives a different net-profit decline (12.5 percent), and we could not open the official earnings release, so check the company’s IR page for the exact figures. Overseas activity

On the company’s own news page, NIJISANJI and NIJISANJI EN exhibited at Anime Festival Asia Thailand 2026 on May 30 and 31 at QSNCC in Bangkok; the units 3SKM and BY THE BEAT showed pre-recorded videos on the festival’s NEXT STAGE.
