Inami Rai (伊波ライ) is a male virtual liver of NIJISANJI, the VTuber project operated by ANYCOLOR Inc. His official birthday is October 23, which is the day this page goes live in Japan. He debuted in April 2023 as one of the four members of the unit Dytica, and since 2025 he has also performed in MECHATU-A, a larger unit that combines Dytica with another debut group, Oriens.

Character and official profile

NIJISANJI’s official talent page describes Inami Rai through a character concept rather than a long biography. His hobby of tinkering with machines grew until he became the mechanic for a group of heroes. Later he applied the same skill to become a hero himself. The profile adds one running joke for fans: the machines he builds are not well understood in the place where he lives, which worries him. The debut announcement gave the same concept in short form, describing him as a mechanic who became a hero himself and giving his age as 21.

The profile page lists no fan name and no height, so this page does not invent either. It does link his two main accounts, a YouTube channel and an X account, which are collected in the Official links section below.

Debut with Dytica

On April 26, 2023, NIJISANJI announced that four new male Livers had begun activity: Hoshirube Sho, Murakumo Kagetsu, Koyanagi Rou and Inami Rai. Their first YouTube streams were run as a relay on April 29, 2023. According to the announcement, Inami Rai’s first stream was scheduled for 13:30 JST, after the streams of Murakumo Kagetsu (12:00), Hoshirube Sho (12:30) and Koyanagi Rou (13:00). The announcement noted that the schedule could change. The four became known as Dytica, a name that official listings from 2025 and 2026 use for the group.

The sister group Oriens had debuted a month earlier, in March 2023, with Saeki Itetsu, Akagi Wen, Usami Rito and Hibachi Mana. The two groups have since been presented together on several occasions, most visibly through MECHATU-A.

The video above is the official link for his first stream, as listed in the NIJISANJI debut announcement.

Milestones and activity

  • April 2025: Dytica’s 3D debut and its second anniversary were covered by Animate Times in a report dated April 30, 2025.
  • February 2025: A report on NIJISANJI’s Nijifes 2025 event covered a MECHATU-A “hero show,” a sign that the unit was already performing on stage that year.
  • April 2025 and August 2025: He was announced on April 12, 2025 as a guest voice actor for the game Inazuma Eleven: Eiyu-tachi no Victory Road, which was released on August 22, 2025.
  • April 2026: A Dytica third-anniversary fair began at Animate stores on April 24, 2026.
  • July 2026: MECHATU-A’s first mini album, On-Deck!, was released on July 22, 2026, with an Animate event and a Dytica talk event.
  • August 2026: A fair at Animate for THE BOOM (with Hibachi Mana) and a related project called “kyun bro” was announced to start on August 26.

MECHATU-A and the first live

MECHATU-A is an eight-member unit formed from the four members of Dytica and the four members of Oriens. Its first live event, MECHATU-A 1st LIVE “Over Drive!”, took place on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at K-Arena Yokohama, with doors at 16:30 and the show at 18:00 JST. It was streamed in full on Niconico Live. According to the announcement, timeshift viewing remains available until 23:59 on October 28, 2026, and ticket sales run until 23:59 on October 27, 2026. The announcement does not describe viewing rules for fans outside Japan, so overseas readers should check the ticket site and the event page before buying.

Music, goods and birthday items

Because he performs in a music-focused unit, his recent activity is easier to follow through the NIJISANJI official store than through any single stream. The store’s profile page for Inami Rai lists 190 items at the time of writing, including MECHATU-A first-live goods, standard goods and the “Nostalgia Collection 2026” series. Prices on the first page of the listing range from 350 yen for a random card to 10,000 yen for the first-live premium set, tax included.

Birthday merchandise has been an annual feature for NIJISANJI Livers. For his 2025 birthday, the official store sold a “Birthday Goods and Voice 2025” lineup from October 23, 2025 at 18:00 to October 29, 2025 at 23:59. Items ranged from a 1,000-yen birthday voice with a bonus smartphone wallpaper to a 10,000-yen celebration set, and the physical goods were made to order. We could not confirm a 2026 lineup when this page was written, so readers should check the official store and the NIJISANJI X account on his birthday.

Where to start

For a first look at his streaming style, the debut stream above is the most direct official starting point. To hear him as part of a group, the MECHATU-A first live archive is the most recent large production, though access is limited to the ticketed timeshift period described above.
