ANYCOLOR, the company behind NIJISANJI, opened a new round of auditions for its training project VTA (Virtual Talent Academy) on October 16, 2026. Four separate auditions are open at once, including a male-group audition and a vocal audition, and the three time-limited ones close on November 9 at 12:00 JST. This post summarizes what the official pages say and what overseas readers should keep in mind. It is a reading aid, not advice on whether to apply.

The four auditions
- Male group audition (the title calls for a rising-star lineup): for men who would debut together as a group. The official page requires applicants to be able to work in a group.
- General VTA audition (titled with a line roughly meaning “show us how you live”): the broad entry point, asking for a strong commitment to giving full effort.
- Vocal audition: for applicants confident in their singing.
- Standing VTA audition: always-open entry. Re-applicants must wait at least six months after their previous application to this one; the VTA site adds that applying to this track does not block applying to the others.
Common requirements
All four ask applicants to be able to stay active over the long term and to prioritize the schedule, to attend selection in Tokyo or Osaka, and to take part in the training program after passing, which includes lessons in Tokyo or Osaka. Applicants must either have no agency or label contract or be able to end an existing one promptly after passing. The VTA site states that streaming experience is not required, and it lists streaming, performing arts, creative work and club or competition activity as examples of useful experience. It also says passing does not guarantee a debut, and that ANYCOLOR does not answer questions about screening status; results go only to those who pass.
Background: what VTA is
VTA is a talent development project that applies NIJISANJI know-how to train people, including those with no streaming experience, to become VTubers. MoguLive reports that many talents have debuted from it since 2022 and names Ranunculus and VOLTACTION as examples. In plain terms, it is a training route that sits next to the main NIJISANJI auditions; the previous round (December 22, 2025 to January 19, 2026) offered twin/brother, mascot and normal tracks, and ANYCOLOR said successful applicants may debut outside the “Nijisanji Project”. Why it matters outside Japan
Because the process is in Japanese and selection happens in person, this is mainly an option for people who can read Japanese forms and travel to Tokyo. The official pages do not address overseas residents directly. The VTA site only says that people outside the Tokyo area can apply but must join the selection in Tokyo. Anyone based abroad would need to confirm visa, travel and contract questions themselves. This page does not cover NIJISANJI EN, the English-language branch, so overseas hopefuls aiming at it should look for its own official audition notices.
What we don’t know yet
- Whether overseas applicants can do interviews online. The official pages do not say.
- How many people each audition will select, and when results will arrive.
- What the male group or vocal tracks will debut as, including whether they become part of the main NIJISANJI roster.
- Whether the standing audition changes its rules before its December 2027 end date.
