Mori Calliope Joins Desktop Mate as a Steam DLC, With Japanese and English Voice Lines
Last reviewed: October 29, 2026
Above: the official Mori Calliope DLC trailer from infiniteloop’s YouTube channel.
At a glance
- What: a paid add-on that puts hololive’s Mori Calliope on your desktop inside the Steam app Desktop Mate. The DLC requires the base app.
- Release: Steam’s page lists October 28, 2026; Japanese outlet MoguLive reports October 29, which fits the same moment in Japan Standard Time.
- Price: MoguLive reports ¥2,200 including tax. The Steam page we opened showed $14.99 in US dollars. Regional prices can differ.
- Languages: the interface and voice are offered in Japanese and English, and Calliope’s new voice lines can be switched in the settings.
- Platforms: Windows 10/11 and macOS, with the caveats listed below.
What the DLC adds
According to MoguLive, which cites the Steam store page, the DLC is a newly built 3D model of Mori Calliope supervised by COVER Corporation, the company behind hololive production. The Steam description says she has reaper-themed idle and seated poses, a scythe swing, and reactions when you pat, poke or pick her up. MoguLive adds an alarm feature in which she appears and announces the time. Her voice lines were newly recorded, in both Japanese and English, and you can switch between them in the settings menu. Her main profile is on our Mori Calliope talent page.
The Steam store page opened on October 27, according to MoguLive, and wishlists were accepted before release. Desktop Mate itself is a separate Steam app that the DLC depends on, so a new buyer needs both the base app and this add-on.
Price, release date and why the sources differ
The two sources we read do not match exactly, and the differences are probably explained by region and time zone rather than a real conflict. The Steam page shows October 28 as the release date, while MoguLive says Thursday, October 29. Because Japan is ahead of US time zones, a release late on October 28 in the Americas falls on October 29 in Japan, but neither source says this outright, so treat the date as approximate. For price, MoguLive gives ¥2,200 with tax, and the Steam page we fetched showed $14.99. Steam usually shows a price in the currency of the region of the viewer, so your own price may differ.
Checking your computer before you buy
The Steam page lists minimum Windows requirements of Windows 10 (version 21H1 or newer, 64-bit) or Windows 11, an Intel Core i5-8250U or AMD Ryzen 3 3300U, 8 GB of RAM, Intel UHD Graphics 730 or Radeon Vega 8, and 500 MB of storage. Recommended specs are Windows 11, an Intel Core i5-11400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB of RAM, a GPU such as an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 or Intel Iris Xe, and 4 GB of storage.
For Mac, the Steam page lists macOS Monterey 12 or newer with an Apple M1 chip or A18 Pro, 8 GB of RAM, and says Intel Macs are not supported; A18 Pro devices need macOS Tahoe 26.3.1 or newer. MoguLive instead describes support as macOS Tahoe 26 or later and notes that the multi-character feature is not available in the Mac open beta. Since the two disagree, check the store page for your own system before purchasing.
Background
This add-on stands out because it is sold on Steam and includes English voice lines recorded for it, according to the store page. Other hololive talents have not been confirmed in the sources we read, so we do not list any.
What we don’t know yet
- Whether more hololive talents will be added to Desktop Mate as DLC has not been stated in the sources we opened.
- The exact release time on October 28/29 and the final price in each region are not confirmed beyond what the Steam page displays to each viewer.
- The macOS requirements are described differently by Steam and MoguLive; we have not tested the DLC.
- The base app’s features and price were not reviewed for this article.
