Tsukino Mito

Tsukino Mito (月ノ美兎) is widely described as NIJISANJI’s first VTuber and the face of its first generation. Playing a serious, slightly tsundere high school class representative known to fans as “Iinchou,” she has built a career that ranges from planned video projects to chatting streams, music and television-style appearances. This profile draws on the official NIJISANJI profile and on Japanese reporting, with each claim attributed to its source.

At a glance

  • Agency: NIJISANJI, first generation. See our NIJISANJI agency page.
  • Debut: February 2018, as part of the first generation. Real Sound reports that the first generation debuted on February 8, 2018.
  • Birthday: September 24.
  • Fan name: none listed on the official profile.
  • Language: Japanese.
  • Platform: YouTube.

Character

The official NIJISANJI profile describes her as a second-year high school student with a tsundere personality who is a serious class representative at heart: someone who works hard but sometimes overthinks and regrets what she said afterward. Anime Corner’s 2022 report on her first million subscribers called her a well-spoken 16-year-old class president, and notes that she is the agency’s first VTuber and debuted alongside Yuki Chihiro, Elu, Higuchi Kaede, Shizuka Rin, Shibuya Hajime, Suzuya Aki and Moira. Her videos also feature a second persona known as “Nazo no Mito,” the “suspicious person,” according to KAI-YOU and Dengeki Online.

What the content looks like

Real Sound’s July 2025 profile calls her an all-round creator rather than a pure game streamer or singer. According to that article, her work centers on three areas: planned projects, videos and casual chatting, and even when she joins game streams with friends, conversation tends to take priority over gameplay. As of June 30, 2025 the article put her at about 1.42 million YouTube subscribers, fourth among NIJISANJI members, and said she was posting roughly four to five videos a month, including Shorts, covering location shoots, studio productions, guest appearances and music videos. The embedded video below is an example of the planned-challenge format: a three-day stream in which she can only eat foods that were named during the stream.

Milestones

  • February 2018: debut as one of the first NIJISANJI VTubers, with a self-introduction as her debut video, per KAI-YOU.
  • 2019: appearance in the anime “Virtual-san wa Mite Iru,” in which VTubers played themselves, according to KAI-YOU’s summary of her self-introduction video.
  • October 2020: first single “Sore Yuke! Gakkyuu Iincho,” according to Anime Corner.
  • August 2021: first album “Moon’s Rabbit Sees a Virtual Dream,” per the same report, and her first live concert, “initial step in NIJISANJI,” in 2021.
  • June 2 2022: she announced a break from live streaming, returning on September 23, 2022 with a shift toward planning and chatting, according to Real Sound.
  • December 2022: one million YouTube subscribers (Anime Corner, December 12, 2022).
  • October 26, 2025: an in-depth “self-introduction” video in her eighth year, covering her background, her work with a record label, the Nazo no Mito persona and the early “10 Minutes to Understand Tsukino Mito” series, per KAI-YOU.

2025 and 2026 activity

In autumn 2025 she was one of eight talents in the third NIJISANJI x Gokurakuyu bathhouse collaboration, which ran from October 9 to November 11, 2025; her shared collab bath with Higuchi Kaede ran October 16 to 19, according to AppBank. The campaign has since returned for a fourth round without her; see our report on the fourth Gokurakuyu collaboration.

In September 2026, Dengeki Online reported on her post about NIJISANJI’s baseball collaboration with Taiwan’s Rakuten Monkeys (September 11 to 13), where the ceremonial first pitch at the September 12 game was thrown by “Nazo no Mito,” so that her alter ego was in Taiwan before she was. Looking ahead, she is listed among the performers for the first NIJISANJI Girls Idol Festival at INTEX Osaka, a two-day event on December 19 and 20, 2026; she appears on the Iris Stage on December 19. The source we opened says ticket details would be announced later, and mentions no streaming plan.

Collaborations and related talents

Her first-generation peers include Higuchi Kaede, with whom she shared the 2025 bath collab. Among NIJISANJI talents with pages on this site, Kuzuha also took part in the 2025 Gokurakuyu campaign; see Kuzuha.
