Illustrator first, then VTuber

Shigure Ui works across two roles that overlap. She is a freelance illustrator who draws light-novel covers and character designs, and she is a VTuber who streams, sings and exhibits her own art. A 2026 press release from INCOLORE describes her as a freelance illustrator and VTuber who illustrated the Dengeki Bunko light novel series Osananajimi ga Zettai ni Makenai Love Comedy and the Dash X Bunko title Kimi wa Boku no Kōkai, and who designed Oozora Subaru of hololive and Sendo Yuuhi of VSPO!. English Wikipedia places the start of the Subaru design work in August 2018, with Subaru debuting the following month, and says Shigure began livestreaming as a VTuber in May 2019. The press release confirms only that her YouTube channel opened in 2019 and that the fifth anniversary was in 2024.

Her channel description introduces her as an illustrator and says she holds relaxed streams about once a week. Her fan-usage terms are published separately, so anyone planning fan works or clips should read them before posting.

Music and the 2024 anniversary project

English Wikipedia reports that her song “Shukusei!! Loli Kami Requiem”, included on her debut solo album The Rain Doesn’t Stop Yet, went viral in September 2023 after its music video was released and that her channel grew quickly afterward. The 2024 fifth-anniversary project, as listed in the 2026 press release, included a solo exhibition titled “Ame o Taguru,” a second album, fiction, an art book titled Ame o Tsuzuru, a live called “masterpiece,” and the announcement of a VoiSona voice bank named “Amei.”

Her channel in October 2026 shows a steady run of original songs credited to producers such as Horie Shota (the title of “Wishing Umbrella” names him), DECO*27 and TeddyLoid (“Aishite Yamanai”), and yashikin (“No thank Cute!” and “Hokago Mermaid”). We list these titles because they appear in the video titles we read; we have not verified each credit beyond those titles.

2026: the Uitopia exhibition and the birthday live

The 2026 press release from INCOLORE, published May 2, lists the Uitopia exhibition at “6142” in Harajuku, Tokyo, from May 2 to June 7, 2026, open 10:00 to 20:00. The upper floors required a paid ticket, which cost ¥1,200 for general visitors and ¥700 for junior high and high school students on the day. It was her first exhibition in about two years, after the 2024 solo show. The release also lists “SHIGURE UI Birthday Live ‘Wishing Umbrella’” at K-Arena Yokohama on May 30, 2026, and her channel carries three-song full footage from that live.

The exhibition did not end in Tokyo. An Animate fair called “Uitopia” runs at Animate stores nationwide and the Animate Online Shop from November 10 to December 15, 2026, with merchandise priced from ¥300 to ¥8,500, including plush items, tapestries, acrylic goods and a catalog. The fair listing also mentions a fan book releasing November 30 and a touring exhibition in Kyoto and Fukuoka, plus a mini event at Animate Lalaport Fukuoka Tenjin until November 29. The listing says nothing about overseas shipping, so overseas fans should check the Animate Online Shop themselves; our guide to buying official VTuber merch from Japan covers general options.

Following her work

Her main pages are on YouTube, X (@ui_shig), pixiv and the exhibition site. A separate information account, @shigureui_info, posts event and goods notices. Because she mixes art and music, the best entry points are her illustration portfolio on pixiv, her original music videos, and the Birthday Live footage embedded above. We have not reviewed her stream archives in depth, so we make no claims about her streaming style beyond the channel description.

FAQ

Is Shigure Ui part of an agency? We list her as independent. The 2026 exhibition and live were organized by Shigure Ui together with INCOLORE Inc., a creator-focused agency, but the sources we read do not describe a talent contract, so we do not claim one.

Did Shigure Ui design Oozora Subaru? Yes. The 2026 press release and English Wikipedia both credit her with the character design of hololive’s Oozora Subaru.

Can overseas fans buy the Uitopia goods? The Animate fair listing does not mention overseas shipping. Check the Animate Online Shop for your country, and confirm shipping before ordering.

When is her birthday? The sources we read do not state it, although the May 30 live was billed as a birthday live. We leave the birthday blank until it is officially stated.
