Who Kaguya Luna is
Kaguya Luna (輝夜月) is a VTuber whose character was designed by the illustrator Mika Pikazo and whose official age is 145. Otapedia says she joined YouTube on December 4, 2017, and posted her self-introduction video six days later. Her birthday is October 30.
She was managed by The Moon Studio from November 2018 until it closed in 2019, after which she returned to the management of Vic Inc., according to Otapedia. Her music was handled by Sacra Music, a Sony Music label. Fans are called “LUNAfam” according to Hololist.
Channel and style
Luna became the second most subscribed VTuber on YouTube, behind Kizuna AI, and was known for a fast-talking, free-spirited style. In August 2018 she released the original song “Beyond the Moon” ahead of her first live event, “Kaguya Luna LIVE@Zepp VR”, held on August 31, 2018, on the cluster VR platform, with live viewing in cinemas.
She hosted the TOKYO MX program Talkin’ On The Moon in 2018, and in 2019 she was the face of the Nissin Yakisoba U.F.O. campaign, which included a record-setting high-altitude smartphone livestream. Her debut album was released on January 15, 2020.
The Virtual YouTuber Wiki states that her last YouTube video was posted on August 29, 2020, and that her official fan club announced in September 2021 that it would close at the end of November 2021. No retirement announcement from Luna or Vic Inc. was found in the sources checked, and no activity after 2020 was verified, so this page lists her status as on hiatus.
