Who Omega Sisters are
Omega Sisters (おめがシスターズ), often shortened to “Omesis” (おめシス), is a virtual YouTuber unit made up of two members, Omega Rei (おめがレイ) and Omega Rio (おめがリオ). KAI-YOU describes them as twin sisters. They began activity in March 2018 as a singing-focused duo, and their first video was posted shortly afterward. Rei has blue hair with a red ribbon, and Rio has red twin tails. The spelling of Rei’s name appears as “Ray” in her X handle (@omesis_ray), while KAI-YOU and MoguLive use “Rei” in running text.
The unit was once part of the creator network upd8, which also managed Kizuna AI, and it has been independent since that group disbanded. Their birthday, November 5, is shared by the unit as a whole, and in 2019 they marked it with a livestream that MoguLive reported as drawing more than 10,000 viewers.
Channel and style
The Niconico Pedia entry lists a range of cover songs from their early period, and it records an original song, “Synchrotie”, released in 2019 together with the band BACK-ON. They also run a sub-channel on which they voice male-sounding characters. In 2022 they started posting videos that combine a virtual head with live-action footage, which they call body-part VTuber videos.
Their recent activity is listed in KAI-YOU’s news section. On September 9, 2026, KAI-YOU reported a collaboration with Manha and Niyok, the official VTuber duo of the Guam Visitors Bureau (Japan office). The collaboration video was scheduled for release the same day on the Bureau’s YouTube channel. The same KAI-YOU page lists a talk appearance at the Waseda University festival on September 28, 2026, and an appearance at the Keio University festival noted on October 1, 2026.
How to follow and what to expect
New videos and streams appear on their YouTube channel, and each member has her own X account. Content ranges from songs and covers to comedic challenges and game-related projects. Because the unit is independent, collaborations and event appearances are announced through their own accounts.
