HOLOSTARS: hololive production’s All-Male VTuber Group
Status as of 2026-10-30. HOLOSTARS is active and operated by COVER Corporation as part of hololive production.
HOLOSTARS (ホロスターズ) is the all-male VTuber group within hololive production. Its official site says activities began in June 2019, and it has since grown into a Japanese-language side and an English-language side, each with several units. This page explains how it is organised, how its English branch was created, and where overseas fans can follow it.
At a glance
- Operator: COVER Corporation
- Brand: an all-male VTuber group under hololive production
- Start of activities: June 2019 (official site)
- Official roster: 25 talents listed, of which 6 carry an “Affiliate” tag and 3 are alumni
- Official channels: HOLOSTARS YouTube channel, HOLOSTARS English YouTube (@HOLOSTARSenglish) and X (@HOLOSTARSen)
What HOLOSTARS does
The official About page describes the group’s activity as gameplay streams, cover songs and original music on YouTube, live singing and chatting, collaborations, concerts, talk shows and interactive events. It is run on the same official site network as hololive production, and fan-made content falls under the derivative-work terms that hololive publishes for the whole production.
Structure and units
The talent page filters the roster by unit: gen-1, gen-2, gen-3 and UPROAR!! on the Japanese side, and HOLOSTARS English, TEMPUS and ARMIS on the English side, plus an Alum filter for those who have left. The page does not map each talent to a unit, so we do not assign them here beyond what official announcements say. Names currently shown without an alumni or affiliate tag are Kanade Izuru, Astel Leda, Yukoku Roberu, Aragami Oga, Yatogami Fuma, Utsugi Uyu, Regis Altare, Axel Syrios, Gavis Bettel, Machina X Flayon, Banzoin Hakka, Josuiji Shinri, Jurard T Rexford, Goldbullet, Octavio and Crimzon Ruze. Six more are tagged Affiliate (Hanasaki Miyabi, Arurandeisu, Rikka, Kishido Temma, Kageyama Shien and Minase Rio), a label the page does not explain. Three are alumni: Kagami Kira, Magni Dezmond and Noir Vesper.
Going global: HOLOSTARS English
The English side began with auditions. On 4 March 2022 hololive opened male auditions for hololive English. The requirements were willingness to perform as a male character (actual gender does not matter), fluent English, at least a year of streaming at three or more times a week, experience with livestreaming such as gaming, singing or drawing, and being 18 or older. Other languages such as Japanese were optional. Applicants used the form at en.hololive.tv/audition.
Those auditions led to HOLOSTARS English -TEMPUS-, announced in July 2022 as a four-member unit built around an Adventurer’s Guild story. The founding members were Regis Altare (guild founder), Magni Dezmond (publicist), Axel Syrios (human resources chief) and Noir Vesper (academic advisor). Their debut streams were scheduled for 23 and 24 July 2022 in JST, with a first four-person collaboration stream on 24 July.
On 16 November 2023 COVER announced HOLOSTARS English -ARMIS-, four members framed as bounty hunters: Jurard T Rexford, Goldbullet, Octavio and Crimzon Ruze. Their debut streams ran on 17 and 18 November in Pacific time (the following days in Japan), ending with a joint collaboration stream. The announcement refers to the “six heroes of TEMPUS”, showing that the first unit had grown beyond its original four by then.
Music and video
Releases listed on the official site include Kageyama Shien’s first original song “BEGINNING”, which went on sale on 26 February 2022 and is credited to Atsushi Harada of Arte Refact. The official video library also lists group MVs such as “Just Follow Stars”, the TEMPUS songs “Woven Fates” and “DEAD WORLD”, and a 3D MV cover of “SpecialZ” by HOLOSTARS English, which is the video embedded above. The same library shows programmes from hololive fes EXPO 25 and EXPO 26, White Day 2026 voice content and a “BE:FIRST” cover, giving a sense of the group’s regular output.
Overseas activity
- hololive Meet 2025 ambassadors: on 2 April 2025 COVER named six ambassadors, including Aragami Oga for HOLOSTARS and Octavio for HOLOSTARS English.
- Anime NYC 2026 (20-23 August): hololive production’s booth programme at the Javits Center in New York gave Sunday 23 August to HOLOSTARS English: Axel Syrios, Octavio, Machina X Flayon and Banzoin Hakka, and all four are also listed for the new “Petit Greetings” one-on-one sessions. Times were left to be posted on social media.
- English-language channels: a dedicated HOLOSTARS English YouTube channel and X account exist, which is the easiest starting point for non-Japanese speakers.
What to watch next
The hololive production site has a Holostars 7th Anniversary 2026 section, consistent with the June 2019 start, but the page we could open carried no schedule details. Check the official HOLOSTARS and HOLOSTARS English accounts for announcements.
