VSPO!, the esports-focused VTuber project in the Brave group, will spend the last two days of 2026 in Akihabara. “VSPO! Year-End Countdown 2026” (VSPO! Nenmatsu Countdown 2026) runs on December 30 and 31, 2026 across several venues around Akihabara Station, with a free New Year countdown, a paid fan-appreciation special shown on screens and online, an exhibition that recreates the group’s 3D studio, and a month-long collaboration with about 100 local shops. The event was first announced on Nekota Tsuna’s YouTube channel, and Brave group published the full outline in a press release on October 31. The fan club lottery for venue tickets is already open and closes on November 8 at 23:59 JST.

At a glance

  • Dates: December 30 (exhibition only) and December 31, 2026 (countdown, special program, goods and free areas).
  • Where: Bellesalle Akihabara, Akihabara UDX and Akihabara Convention Hall, all a short walk from JR Akihabara Station in Tokyo.
  • Countdown: December 31, doors 22:20, start 23:20, planned end 24:10 JST. Free admission with an advance ticket, and a free livestream on the official VSPO! YouTube channel.
  • Special program: “VSPO! Fan Appreciation Year-End Special 2026”, a pre-recorded show in three parts on December 31. Venue tickets cost 1,500 yen per part (2,500 yen with a towel bonus). Streaming tickets on ZAIKO cost 1,000 yen per part or 2,500 yen for all three.
  • Exhibition: “VSPO! 3D Studio Recreation: Gaming Space 2026” on December 30 and 31, 8:30 to 22:00, in 30-minute sessions at 1,500 yen (2,500 yen with bonus).
  • Akihabara campaign: December 1, 2026 to January 5, 2027, with about 100 shops, 12 restaurant collaborations and an eight-shop stamp rally.
  • Fan club lottery: October 31, 14:00 to November 8, 23:59 JST. Results on November 13 at 18:00 JST.

Above: the official VSPO! channel’s livestream of the 2024 year-end countdown. The 2026 countdown will also be streamed free on the same channel.

What happens on December 31

The main day is packed. From 9:00, Bellesalle Akihabara’s first floor opens as a free exhibition and rest area with a large banner using the event key visual and goods displays. A photo spot with a special VSPO! kadomatsu (the pine decoration Japanese households put out for the New Year) stands in UDX’s Sabonius Plaza from 9:00 until 24:30, where free message cards are handed out while they last.

The fan-appreciation special is shown three times: Part 1 at 12:00, Part 2 at 15:00 and Part 3 at 18:00 JST, each about an hour long. Each part has a 2D segment and a 3D segment. The official lineup includes a “reading the room” game, a lucky-roll werewolf game, 2027 fortune-telling, a look back at 2026 and a board-game style sugoroku. Members appearing include Shinomiya Runa, Sendo Yuuhi, Shiranami Ramune, Komori Met, Asumi Sena, Yakumo Beni, Tachibana Hinano, Kisaragi Ren and Nekota Tsuna, along with the newest members. The full cast for each part is on the official special-program page. The same footage plays at Bellesalle Akihabara 2F and the UDX Square Hall, and buyers choose one venue when they apply.

The countdown itself starts at 23:20 at Bellesalle Akihabara (1F and 2F show the same footage). Entry is free but needs an advance ticket. Because of Tokyo’s youth ordinance, anyone under 18 cannot enter or stay after 23:00 without a guardian.

The 3D studio exhibition

On both days, Akihabara Convention Hall 2F hosts a recreation of “Gaming Space”, the studio VSPO! uses for its 3D streams. The exhibition shows costumes for all 25 members, including the two newest additions, calligraphy and ema wooden prayer plaques written by the members, and a short radio program that can only be heard at the venue. Entry is in 30-minute timed sessions with a full turnover, so tickets are tied to a specific slot.

Akihabara shop campaign

From December 1 to January 5, about 100 Akihabara shops will put up member posters and banners. Spending 500 yen or more (tax included) at a participating shop gets a random postcard, and a special VSPO! area guide leaflet will be distributed around the area. Twelve restaurants, including Akihabara Nikuzushi, Spaghetti no Pancho and Ramen Montana, will sell collaboration dishes, with menus still to be announced. A stamp rally across eight shops rewards a finished card with an original sticker, exchanged at ONODEN Building 1F. These shop campaigns need no ticket, which makes them the easiest part of the event for visitors who are in Tokyo over the holidays.

Goods

New goods use full-body and SD illustrations drawn for the event. On December 31 they are sold at Bellesalle Akihabara B1F, with numbered tickets from 9:00 to 16:00 (the first lottery for those tickets runs through the official LINE account from November 28 to December 6) and free entry from 16:00 to 22:20. Online sales run on the VSPO! OFFICIAL ONLINE STORE from December 31 at 9:00 to January 14, 2027 at 23:59 JST.

Can overseas fans get tickets?

For the venue tickets, it is difficult. The first sale is a lottery for members of the VSPO! fan club, and both the applicant and any companion must already be members. The fan club’s own FAQ says membership costs 6,600 yen a year, that it is only open to people with an address in Japan because it mails out benefits, that its services are offered in Japanese only, and that cards issued outside Japan may not work. The event site also says venue applications require a registered Japanese phone number and a Japanese address. Venue tickets are electronic and issued through Ticket Pia’s system, and later phases (an official presale lottery, a first-come general sale and a resale) are listed on the event site without dates yet. Ticket issuing starts December 5 for the special program and exhibition and December 24 for the countdown. If you are new to Japanese ticket pages, our guides on reading a Japanese event ticket page and buying tickets from Japanese ticket sites explain the steps.

Watching from abroad is much simpler. The countdown streams free on YouTube, and the special program has streaming tickets on ZAIKO, which the organizer says can be watched from outside Japan. Streaming tickets go on sale on December 19 at 10:00 JST, and the archive stays up until January 17, 2027 at 23:59 JST. Screenshots of the stream may be posted on social media, but screen recording and re-uploading are banned. The program is in Japanese, and no subtitles have been announced.

Time zones

All times are Japan Standard Time (UTC+9). The countdown start at 23:20 JST on December 31 is 14:20 UTC, 9:20 a.m. in New York and 6:20 a.m. in Los Angeles on the same day, and midnight JST is 15:00 UTC. Part 1 of the special program at 12:00 JST on December 31 is 03:00 UTC, which is still the evening of December 30 in the Americas (10 p.m. in New York, 7 p.m. in Los Angeles). Our JST time zone guide has a conversion table.

Background

VSPO! has held year-end countdowns before, and its official channel still hosts the countdown livestreams for 2023 and 2024. The 2026 edition is bigger in scope, spreading over two days and several buildings and tying in local businesses. The costume display covers all 25 members, so the exhibition doubles as a snapshot of the whole roster at the end of 2026.

What we don’t know yet

  • Dates for the official presale, general sale and resale phases.
  • The collaboration menus and the full list of the 100 shops and eight stamp-rally shops (to be posted on the event site).
  • Whether the countdown or special program will have English subtitles or an English-language stream.
