Takanashi Kiara (小鳥遊キアラ)

Takanashi Kiara (小鳥遊キアラ) is a hololive English VTuber who presents as a phoenix idol with the dream of owning a fast-food chain. She debuted on September 12, 2020 as part of the first generation of hololive English, hololive -Myth-, and has grown into one of the branch’s largest channels. She streams in English, Japanese and German, releases original music and, in 2026, headlined her first non-group concert in Los Angeles.

Character

The official hololive profile calls Kiara an idol whose dream is to own a fast-food chain, and stresses that she is “a phoenix, not a chicken or turkey”. She works hard, the profile says, because she is reborn from her ashes. The phoenix theme runs through her fan name, her hashtags and her debut single “Hinotori” (firebird). The embedded video is the official video for her first album Point of View, released on August 30, 2023.

Background

According to Wikipedia, Kiara was born in Austria and her native language is German, and she is also fluent in Japanese from earlier time spent in Japan. She had planned a working-holiday year in Japan in 2020, but the pandemic disrupted that plan; she then auditioned for hololive’s new English branch and has described it as feeling like destiny. She has said she discovered VTubers through Shirakami Fubuki’s channel. Wikipedia also records a short scare in December 2020, when her YouTube channel was briefly terminated and restored the same day.

What the content looks like

Wikipedia describes her output as mainly video games, with karaoke and chatting streams as well. She also hosts Holotalk, a talk show where she interviews other hololive talents, and which has also been used to give graduating VTubers a last word. Because she streams in three languages, her audience spans English-speaking, Japanese and German-speaking fans.

Music

Her official profile lists singles such as “Hinotori”, “Perfume”, “Tasty”, “Mirage”, “Chimera”, “Glow in the Dark” and “Freaky Deaky Love”, plus the albums Point of View and Vogelfrei. Point of View contains ten tracks, including “Pineapple”, “Love Rush”, “The Great Wanderer”, “Heart Challenger” and “DO U”. Wikipedia reports that the album peaked at No. 44 on the Japan Digital Albums chart and that Vogelfrei peaked at No. 54 on a Japanese sales chart. She has also released “Fire N Ice” with Mori Calliope and “Glow in the Dark” with La+ Darknesss, and she appears on group releases such as “Seishun Archive” with the hololive idol project.

2026 activity

Drawn to Dawn took place on March 27 and 28, 2026 at The Wiltern in Los Angeles. hololive calls it the first overseas solo concert for Kiara and Ina’nis, six years after their debuts. Doors opened at 6:30 pm PDT, the stream began at 7:30 pm and the show at 8:00 pm. In-person tickets ranged from $95 to $160, while streaming tickets sold through SPWN and Streaming+ cost 6,500 yen per day or 12,000 yen for both days. A highlighted moment on day one was Kiara opening with “Hinotori”, and day two featured a new track listed as “EGO”, according to hololive’s event report. The concert was later shown in the UK at Hyper Japan on July 25 and 26, 2026, with standard admission at £25.

Collaborations and related talents

Her closest creative partners on this site are fellow Myth member Ninomae Ina’nis and Mori Calliope. Wikipedia also lists game and brand tie-ins with Valkyrie Connect, HoloCure, World of Warships and Earth Defense Force 6, and convention appearances including Anime NYC in August 2024, Kami-Con in February 2025 and DreamHack Atlanta in October 2025.
