“My Oshi Uses Too Much Slang!” Turns VTuber Chat Into a Japanese Slang Game, Now on Kickstarter

Comments Off on “My Oshi Uses Too Much Slang!” Turns VTuber Chat Into a Japanese Slang Game, Now on Kickstarter

At a glance

  • Game: “My Oshi Uses Too Much Slang!” (Japanese title 推しがスラングをめっちゃ使うんだが!), a single-player Japanese-slang chat adventure.
  • Developer: an individual developer named Fukaya of EasyJ Studio, per MoguLive. The Steam page spells the studio “EssyJ Studio”, so the English spelling is not settled.
  • Crowdfunding: a Kickstarter campaign started on October 21, 2026; MoguLive did not report a funding goal.
  • Demo: a free demo has been on Steam since October 8, 2026.
  • Release: MoguLive says a full PC release on Steam is planned for August 2027 at 2,000 yen. The Steam page itself shows only “coming soon” with no date or price.
  • Text languages: English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.

What kind of game it is

The premise puts the player in the audience of a VTuber’s very first stream. According to MoguLive, which reported the announcement on October 22, 2026, you join the debut broadcast of a new VTuber called Shizuse Yorine as one viewer among many. The chat scrolls past, and at each prompt you choose one of four candidate Japanese slang comments to post. The aim is to get the streamer to read your comment aloud and pick it up in conversation.

Not every option is safe. MoguLive says some candidates are traps: choose a word that does not fit the moment and the streamer herself bans you, which ends the game. To help players avoid that, the game includes a “SlangPool” reference system that explains each term’s meaning and the contexts where it works, along with example sentences and audio. The Steam page describes a similar setup, saying the heroine calls herself a “seiso” (a clean-and-proper type) while her real emotions spill out, and that there are more than 100 slang terms to learn.

Length, endings and languages

The Steam page estimates roughly six hours of play and lists multiple endings, including a “True End” tied to reaching one million subscribers. It describes the interface and subtitles as available in English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Japanese. MoguLive adds that all voice acting is in Japanese only. Steam is slightly inconsistent here: its language table shows no full audio but its description says every slang example is voiced, so we read that as voiced example lines rather than a fully voiced game.

Who is involved

  • Heroine voice: the VTuber Hinata Aizawa voices Shizuse Yorine, according to MoguLive.
  • Theme song: Kyle Nagai of THA NEON LILY, whom MoguLive credits with a Best Music award at the 42nd Japan Academy Film Prize for the film One Cut of the Dead (Kamera wo Tomeruna!).
  • Character design and Live2D: Mogu Zaemon.

Why it is relevant for VTuber fans

Chat is half of what makes a Japanese live stream feel the way it does. Fans type short reactions in fast-moving Japanese, and the streamer reads some of them back, which is exactly the loop this game turns into a puzzle. For overseas viewers who already follow Japanese streams, it is a rare learning tool built on the format they actually watch; our guide to Super Chat versus membership explains how paid chat sits on top of that culture, and our JST time zone guide helps with the watching side.

What we don’t know yet

  • The Kickstarter funding goal and reward tiers were not stated in the sources we opened, and we did not load the campaign page itself.
  • The final price and exact release date: MoguLive reports August 2027 and 2,000 yen, but Steam lists neither.
  • Whether full voice recording is added: MoguLive describes this as a stretch goal depending on pledges.
  • Which regions the Kickstarter ships to, if any physical rewards exist.

How to try it

Start with the free demo on the Steam store page, then decide whether to back the Kickstarter. The developer’s own pages are the only place for final pricing and reward details, so please check them before pledging; we are not able to vouch for any crowdfunding campaign.
