Apricot the Lich

Apricot, also known as Apricot the Lich and “Froot,” is an English-language VTuber who plays a bittersweet lich: a horned, teal-haired necromancer who streams on Twitch and draws art. She debuted on November 27, 2020 as one of the first-generation members of VShojo, and her birthday is October 22, which falls on the day this page goes live. In mid-2025 she removed the VShojo name from her social media profiles; she remains active in 2026, posting music covers on YouTube.

At a glance

  • Birthday: October 22, as listed on her VShojo talent profile; VShojo also marked the date with a public birthday post on X.
  • Debut: November 27, 2020, shortly after VShojo itself launched on November 24, 2020.
  • Language: English; she is described as British.
  • Platforms: Twitch is her primary streaming home, with a YouTube channel for covers, meme videos, stream edits and speedpaints.
  • Fan name: the Frootcakes, according to a community database.
  • Main content: horror and first-person-shooter streaming, chatting, art and singing.

Character

VShojo’s profile describes her as a bittersweet lich who spends her time in an underworld castle drawing art. According to the lore on that page, she began streaming after discovering she could harvest human souls by disguising them as Twitch subscriptions, and she describes herself as a hopeless necromancer who hopes one day to own a virtual fashion brand. Her design features long pointed ears, four dark purple horns, teal hair with green highlights and bat-like wings.

What the content looks like

Her Twitch channel description presents her as a British VTuber who plays horror-style games and first-person shooters. A community profile adds that she is known for a restrained use of profanity compared with some peers, loves horror but is easily scared, and also sings and draws. Her YouTube channel, run separately from her Twitch archive, hosts meme videos, stream edits presented as episodes and speedpaints, which makes it a good place to sample her humor before committing to a long stream.

Sportskeeda, in its coverage of the VShojo exodus, put her at about 436,000 Twitch followers with roughly 4,200 average live viewers; treat those as a snapshot from that article rather than current numbers.

Milestones

  • November 24, 2020: VShojo launches as a US-based talent-first VTuber company, with Projekt Melody, Ironmouse, Nyatasha Nyanners, Silvervale, Zentreya, Hime Hajime and Froot (then credited as Apricot) in its first generation, per Anime Corner’s launch report.
  • November 27, 2020: her debut, as reported in the same launch coverage.
  • July 2025: after Ironmouse announced on July 21 that she was going independent and many VShojo members followed, Siliconera reported that Apricot had removed VShojo from her name and bio. She also raised a copyright-strike incident and expressed sympathy for the affected talent and staff. The coverage does not describe a formal departure, so her exact contractual status is unconfirmed in the sources reviewed here.
  • October 16, 2025: a guest in the pre-show line-up of the Ironmouse Club Ironmouse concert, a pay-per-view event held in connection with Twitch Con.
  • March 2026: uploaded her guest performance of “PAPERMOON” from Club Ironmouse 2025 to YouTube.

Music: the 2026 cover run

Her recent YouTube uploads show a regular cadence of cover music videos. According to the channel’s feed, they include “TELEKINETIC” (March 29, 2026), “Play On!” as a cover for the NTE launch theme (May 3), “Chain” (May 30), “LilaS” (June 30, the video embedded above) and a cover of “I’m the only ghost” (ワタシダケユウレイ) from the anime Bocchi the Rock! (August 9). The steady timing suggests a monthly release habit, but the channel has not announced a schedule, so check it directly.

Why her status is worth explaining

Apricot is a useful case study for the 2025 VShojo upheaval. Sportskeeda described her at one point as the only remaining active VShojo member, while noting that this was based on apparent roster changes and rumors rather than an official statement. VShojo’s own talent page for her still exists and does not state whether she is currently on the roster. In short, the public record does not settle whether she left, so this page lists her VShojo history and her current independent-style activity and leaves the exact relationship unconfirmed.

Collaborations and related talents

Her closest documented tie in our sources is Ironmouse, whose concert she joined in 2025. You can read more about the company in our VShojo agency page and about her fellow first-generation member on the Ironmouse page.
